Patterns of Industry - Saggars
Saggers are the containers into which pottery was placed before being loaded into the bottle ovens for firing. They would be stacked up to approximately 5 metres high. This is a group at the Gladstone Museum at Longton, Stoke-upon-Trent where the traditional pottery-making processes are excellently displayed and explained.
