Slurry tip

At the Beichang washery of the Chengzihe section of the Jixi Coal Mine Bureau.
Slurry from the washery settles in ponds and is then hauled out in the tubs onto these tips. It is then removed by - presumably authorised - individuals for use as domestic fuel. It is not clear whether this method is still in use, as dry(-ish) slurry was also being delivered by conveyor to the same area. The settling areas may only be in use during warmer periods.
